About Chloe

Chloe is a sativa-leaning hybrid developed by the Las Vegas-based dispensary and growing operation Medizin. With a complex, earthy flavor profile and well-balanced effects, it’s not hard to see why this bud walked away with First Prize in the International Cannagraphic Magazine Cup in 2015. Chloe’s THC has been measured at between 17% and 23%.

When trimmed, Chloe’s flowers tend to be small to medium in size and adhere in tight, popcorn-like clusters. The buds have a sativa-influenced structure, with leaves that spiral outward in a relatively loose weave. The leaves themselves are a yellowish green and are shot through with curly yellow and orange hairs (which are actually reproductive structures called pistils). Finally, these buds are coated in resinous and translucent trichomes which make them hard to break up without the help of a grinder.

Chloe’s flowers give off an earthy aroma with distinct notes of soil and dried wood. Hanging out underneath is a sweet, almost cloying scent. Grinding up or picking apart the buds, meanwhile, gives off a spicy, peppery tang. Chloe can be harsh on the palate and sinuses when combusted, causing coughing and watery eyes. On the exhale, this smoke tastes dank and sweet with a funky, almost fermented kick at the end.

Chloe begins to reveal her effects quickly, setting in within about five minutes after consumption. At first, smokers may experience odd tics like a flushing in the cheeks or an increase in salivation. These odd sensations are soon supplanted by buzzy mental effects like a sped-up train of thought; ideas may jump from one to the next in previously inconceivable associations. Additionally, they may seem to take on a new resonance or significance that they might not otherwise have. This kind of mental activity is a good way to accomplish work on tasks that require close attention to detail; alternatively, it can simply provide some nice background color for boring chores like doing the dishes or running errands.

As time passes or as dosage is increased, this cerebral buzz can give way to a pronounced feeling of physical relaxation. Soothing waves may begin to roll down the spine and outward through the core and limbs, untying any knots of physical tension. Although Chloe allows newly-relaxed consumers to maintain their earlier mental focus and lucidity, they may be decidedly less likely to take on demanding jobs involving physical exertion and instead find themselves headed for the closest comfortable surface. At this point, activities, like curling up with a good book or stretching out with a movie, may be more welcome. Smokers may also find that Chloe exerts some sensory distortion, including an intensification of some sights and sounds and a strange feeling of time dilation. Because of its slow decline in alertness, this strain is recommended for late afternoon to evening use when its body stone can be full savored.

Chloe’s versatile effects can also have some applications for medical cannabis patients. Its plugged-in way of thinking can help those with attention deficit disorders to stay focused on single tasks. Its upbeat vibe, meanwhile, may soothe the effects of stress, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. This bud may also relieve physical pain, whether it’s serious and disease-related or due to everyday inflammation like indigestion. Chloe’s tendency to bring about the munchies can even make it a powerful appetite stimulant for those undergoing chemotherapy. In properly relaxed circumstances, this bud may even counteract stubborn cases of insomnia. Because it can trigger obsessive bouts of recursive thinking, this strain may not be the best choice for those who are prone to panic or who have a lot THC tolerance.

Seeds of Chloe are not available for sale online, forcing prospective growers to propagate clones from clippings of the strain. Once obtained, these clones can be grown indoors or out, although successful outdoor cultivations calls for a semi-humid, Mediterranean-like climate. Plants tend to reach a medium height and can be bushy and brancy, requiring gardeners to occasionally trim away broad fan leaves. This strain flowers within 9 to 10 weeks when grown indoors.

Chloe is a welcome choice for indica and sativa lovers alike. It’s worth sampling for its complex and appealing flavor.
