Chewbacca

Appropriately, the Indica-dominant Chewbacca strain is named after The Force and another strain of unknown origins, to add to the mystique. The Star Wars heritage has of course increased the popularity of this strain by default. However, not even this strain can get by on name alone – it’s the high THC level and sweet n’ spicy flavor that made the reputation possible to begin with. As we know with certain installments of the movie series, if the film is bad enough, no amount of Chewbacca can save it. The same goes for weed.

Sometimes listed interchangeably with “Chewbacca OG,” “Chewy’s OG,” and Chewbacca Kush,” the Chewbacca strain is a dank little plant that grows nugs shaped like foresty hearts, covered in dark amber hairs that hide its coat of small orange trichomes. The Chewbacca strain can be grown in outdoor and indoor growing conditions and flowers in about 58-62 days. We recommend growing it outside in the fresh, open air if you want the strain to reach its full potential, which reports suggest could be as much as 6 oz. of usable bud per square foot of garden.

GROWING TIPS: In a greenhouse, Chewbacca plants will produce considerably less, about half as much. Even inside, they can grow to 80 inches in height. Outside, that number goes up to 90. No matter where you grow this strain, be prepared for plants that take after their namesake, growing tall and lanky as a lumbering Wookie.

Speaking of lumbering, you shouldn’t plan on going anywhere after you punch your insides with a dose of Chewbacca. The strain is well-known for its classic stoner’s high that lasts for hours, pins you down, and doesn’t let you up until you admit that it beat you. The first thing you’ll feel is a feeling of being uplifted, but this will soon pass as you pass out, sedated and couch-locked, unable to move or do anything for the rest of the day. An average THC level of around 22.5% facilitates your passage to the forest moon of splendor.

The taste of the Chewbacca strain includes quite a few delicious, hidden secrets, including not only the overtone of spicy citrus but notes of plum, grape, and skunky, pungent pine as well. Expect euphoria, high and long-lasting and tingling, as well as a feeling of intense sedation. No matter how you use it, remember that Star Wars branding isn’t everything. You still need to dose Chewbacca for the mood you’re in, the mood you want, and the experience level you have. Don’t try it unless you’re ready to take on a Wookie at his best.
