About Atmosphere

Atmosphere is a well-balanced hybrid that seizes on the powerful genetics of its parent strain. This bud is a cross between old indica warhorse OG Kush and notoriously sticky White Widow. The resulting strain explodes with complex flavor and unleashes a multi-layered high that starts off with mental energy before tapering into physical relaxation. Atmosphere’s THC content has been measured at between 16% and 23%.

Atmosphere is marked by medium to large flowers that adhere in triangular, almost conical formations. The buds maintain a characteristically indica structure, with small leaves overlapping as they curl inward, making for a dense core. The leaves themselves are a dark shade of forest green and are twisted through with hairy yellow and orange pistils. Finally, cloudy white trichomes dot the inner and outer nooks and crannies of these buds, making them particularly sticky.

When properly cured, Atmosphere gives off a distinctly sweet aroma with overtones of fresh pine. Lurking underneath is a light floral scent with some notes of orange. Meanwhile, grinding up buds of the strain yields a hashy and incense-like odor that pays tribute to the strain’s Kush lineage. When combusted in a pipe or a joint, Atmosphere burns with a smooth smoke that goes down very easily. This smoke tastes like a blend of pine and citrus on the exhale, not unlike hybrid favorite Jack Herer.

At first, consumers may be so distracted by this strain’s fragrant and flavorful smoke that they may not notice its initial effects. Early signs that the bud may be doing its job include a pressure in the upper face as well as a flushing in the cheeks. Once they acclimate to these odd effects, consumers will find themselves immersed in a newly-cerebral mindset in which ideas and concepts may jump from one to the next in surprising new associations; this quality makes Atmosphere great for open-ended brainstorming but may be a bit of a challenge for those trying to sustain lucid conversations. This upbeat stimulation of ideas can also prove useful in social situations, where it can inspire easy conversation and camaraderie, even among new acquaintances. As this high wears on, or as dosage is increased, Atmosphere starts to confer some palpable physical relaxation. After an hour or so, smokers may feel their limbs and eyelids begin to sag. Some dizziness may accompany a sudden desire to lie down. While it may not completely incapacitate its consumers, the strain tends to significantly slow them down, robbing them of any prior motivation to run errands to accomplish some exercise. On the plus side, though, Atmosphere’s eventual combination of mental and physical effects makes it a fun way to work on activities that involve full brain and body coordination, including gaming and, under the right circumstance, sex. Because of its gradual decrescendo in momentum, Atmosphere is best enjoyed during the late afternoon or early evening.

Atmosphere’s versatility gives it a range of application for medical cannabis patients as well. Its early cerebral jolt can help those with attention deficit disorders to stay focused on a single task. Its upbeat energy can also temporarily soothe the harsh symptoms of mild to moderate stress and depression. On the physical end of the spectrum, this bud can also take the sting out of aches and pains, whether they’re temporary, as due to injury, or chronic, as due to conditions like lupus or arthritis. Because its early action comes with some very cerebral effects, Atmosphere is not recommended for patients who are prone to panic or paranoia or who have a low THC tolerance.

Seeds of Atmosphere do not seem to be available online. As such, home growers should seek out clippings from mature plants in order to grow them as identical “clones.” Once obtained, Atmosphere can be grown indoors or out, although outdoor success requires a hot, humid climate. While there is little information available on specific best practices for cultivating this strain, its indica-influenced flowers suggest a short, bushy plant silhouette, as well as a brief flowering time of about 8 to 9 weeks.

Atmosphere is a great all-purpose smoke that can be especially fun on a trip to the great outdoors. Its rich terpene profile also makes it worth searching out for connoisseurs of cannabis flavors.
