Born of two longtime celebrity strains, Arctic Sun bares the genetics of Skunk #1 (a pungent heady bud) and White Widow (a strong body-warming strain). By crossing these two powerful strains, Flying Dutchmen created a potent high that checks off all the ‘must haves’ of many a bud lovers’ list.
This euphoric strain has a fairly high THC level that ranges on the low end at 18% with the higher tests landing well above 22%. Arctic Sun buds are pepper shaped and dark green in color, with amber hues, orange hairs, and crystal white trichomes. These dank buds give off a tangy fuel-like aroma that burns the nostrils just a tad upon smoking and is complemented by a slight floral scent. The flavors are very similar with fuel and flowers being on the forefront, and the only difference being the surprisingly skunky sweetness of the exhale.

The Arctic Sun buzz is one you won’t soon forget. This well-balanced, sativa-dominant high flows fluidly through ups and downs without weighing you too much one way or the other. This bud is considered a social butterfly and will warm you from limb to limb, giving your body a sedative-like chill. It hits with a cerebral rush that completely levels out any woes and energizes you just enough to get you feeling happy and relaxed. Though the onset of the high is very “up,” the comedown is very “down” and will have you totally sedated.
Medicinal users love this strain for its ability to ease chronic pain and tension, giving the user space to enjoy this newfound relief. As it is also highly stimulative, Arctic Sun is great for treating nausea, digestive issues, and fatigue. Depressive disorder, bipolar, and stress are also greatly benefited by Arctic Sun, however it isn’t necessarily recommended for users with severe anxiety or PTSD as it can agitate those symptoms if smoked to excess.
Arctic Sun grows beautifully indoors and outdoors and will produce an above-average yield in the right conditions. Because of its height, indoor cultivators will want to keep a watchful eye and prune regularly. Expect a flowering time of 8 to 9 weeks indoors and a late October harvest outdoors.
Flying Dutchman is infamous for turning out products that are well-balanced and serve a multitude of purposes. Enjoy their skunky creation from late afternoon on to give yourself space for a hard crash. Though it is energetic at first, you’ll find yourself quite sleepy towards the end.
