Named after a flower that is found high in the Swiss Alps, Edelweiss is an indica-leaning strain from Amsterdam that is revered just as much for its elusiveness as it is its strength. The breeders at Flying Dutchmen created this strain by crossing Hindu Kush, North Indian, and Skunk, and have managed to keep it quite selective, making it one of the rarest breeds of cannabis on the market.
Powerfully high THC levels make this strain quite heady in nature and hard hitting in its effects. These super-dense, starry nugs are covered in a thick layer of bright white trichomes, giving it a snowball look with a nice floral, hashy aroma. The flavors are very similar with lavender and rose on the palate that grows to be quite harsh on the exhale. Though the amount of coughing you’ll experience is dependent on where and how the strain is cultivated, you might want to try a vape either way.

As mentioned before, the high is hard and heavy, giving a burst of euphoria that lasts through the high. The waves of cerebral sensations and positivity aren’t enough to fight the couch lock, however. This flower power will have you sinking into your seat with no chance of moving after just a few hits. The strength of the indica will have all of your aches and pains melting away, and all your woes become virtually non-existent. Edelweiss is highly recommended for advanced smokers as novice users are cautioned to leave this one to the pros.
Edelweiss is a stellar strain for treating depression, stress, and bipolar as it is exceedingly joyful and uplifting. The all-over tingles and relaxing nature of the strain offer sweet relief from the symptoms that keep you at your worst. Pain and muscle spasms will be a thing of the past as this super powerful sedative soothes those aches with ease.
Intermediate growers and below will have a rough time getting this one started. Though there isn’t much known about how to care for this plant, it is safe to assume that because it is recommended at expert cultivation levels and so rare that seeds aren’t readily available, you may want to leave this to those who know it best.
If you find yourself in the Swiss Alps or cruising the winding streets of Amsterdam, this is one starry-eyed flower you’ll want to try. For the adventurer dying to test out a rare breed that is fast acting and long-lasting, this a great choice – if you can locate it.
